Experience the Viking King’s Mead Hall
Visit the main seat of the first Danish kings and step inside a recreated version of Denmark’s largest Viking building. In the Viking Age, the Royal Hall was an impressive sight for anyone approaching Lejre. The same goes for the Hall in the Land of Legends Lejre, which is filled with carvings, weaponry, and gold-gleaming status symbols.
A Journey Through Time
At the Land of Legends Lejre, both young and old can embark on a journey through time and experience the world of the earliest Viking kings come to life. You can explore four living historical environments with reconstructions of past halls, huts, and houses, and try life as it was during the Viking Age, the Stone Age, the Iron Age, and the 19th century.
Room to Play
Try activities for all ages, from archery to warrior training, storytelling, and canoeing. Take a walk through the historical areas, see what people of the past had for dinner, or find out if woolen clothes were scratchy. Spread out a picnic blanket and settle down in the sun with a packed lunch. Greet the goats in the animal enclosure, watch the wild boars being fed, or hunt for ancient treasures in the archaeological sifting trough.
