Visit KRUDT and experience an explosive chapter of Danish history
Visit KRUDT in Frederiksværk and get up close to one of Denmark’s most dramatic industrial histories. For more than 200 years, gunpowder was produced here for the Danish army, and the museum offers a unique insight into the dangerous process in which saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal were transformed into explosive black powder.
Explore the authentic production buildings, see the historic machinery, and discover how the risk of explosions can still be read in the surrounding landscape. For children and families, KRUDT offers a special interpretation trail with listening stations and fun activities, where history is told in a playful and engaging way.

The ticket portal is new, and we are working on including all Danish museums. Right now, you can purchase tickets for the museums you see here, but we hope that in the future, you’ll be able to buy tickets for even more museums.
