Cirkusmuseet i Rold
The Circus Museum in Rold is set up in the old winter quarters of Circus Miehe, which is Denmark’s only preserved wooden circus building.
The museum offers insight into the circus as a workplace over the past 200 years. You get a glimpse into the daily lives of circus directors, performers, stable hands, and children in the circus world—a world that involved much more than just applause and admiration from the audience.
At the Circus Museum in Rold, in addition to viewing the exhibition, you can also try your hand at authentic circus arts. Both young and old circus enthusiasts can make up as real circus clowns or create their own juggling balls and later perform in Circus Miehe’s old riding hall. There is also a box of circus equipment available for use by those who are interested.
