The Witnesses of the Ramparts
The Witnesses of the Ramparts is a dramatic sound walk that takes place at Fredericia Vold. The story is based on real historical sources that let you get up close and feel the dramatic events during the siege of Fredericia by the Schleswig-Holsteins, and the bloody battle between the Danes and the German soldiers on the night of July 6, 1849.
Hear the story from those who were there
Meet the people who once lived and felt, some more whimsical than others, and experience intense, creepy, rough and slightly unbelievable moments, all of which have taken place right in the city where you are walking and standing.
We give the voice back to the now departed souls and let them recount their experiences before, during and after the siege and battle.
Start by listening to the Witnesses of Violence in the square Ved Landsoldaten and begin the route from there. The route is approx. half an hour.

A podwalk is an audio tour that guides you on a walk through a specific area.
Useeum’s podwalks are engaging and often dramatized audio stories that bring the area’s history to life.
Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive an email (check your spam filter, if necessary). The email will contain both a link and a QR code.
If you are reading the email on your computer, you should scan the QR code with your phone.
If you are reading the email on your phone, you should click on the link.
After this, you will be directed to the Useeum app and gain access to The Witnesses of the Ramparts.
