A PART OF NORDJYSKE MUSEER
The museums in Hadsund
The museums in Hadsund consist of both the Hadsund Egnssamling and the Møllehistorisk Samling, which are located at the same address.
Hadsund Egnssamling
The Hadsund Regional Collection offers a visual journey through history, featuring a Renaissance room, a 19th-century farmhouse, a turn-of-the-20th-century parlor, and a living room from the 1970s. The museum also explores key periods in the area’s history that have shaped the local community we know today, including the renaissance a flourishing production of glass, salt and limestone; the comprehensive agricultural reforms; the rise of Hadsund as a town; and its development into a modern industrial town.
Møllehistorisk Samling
The Mill Historical Collection tells the story of mechanical water and windmills and their development from the Middle Ages up to Poul la Cour’s revolutionary experiments, which laid the groundwork for the modern wind turbine industry.
In the exhibition, children can conduct small experiments with different types of mill blades and learn which blades are most effective at lighting a lamp.
Right next to the Mill Historical Collection is the Hadsund Regional Collection. The two exhibition sites share a museum shop, where you can find books and films about mills from both Denmark and abroad.
