Klosterlund Museum
From the Stone Age to the Peat Industry
At Klosterlund Museum, you can explore exhibits featuring peat work machinery and original archaeological finds dating back to the Stone Age. We tell the story of how people have lived in the area for thousands of years, how they lived—and especially how they have utilized the peat from the bogs over the years.
For families with children, there’s a large nature playground with a view of Lake Bølling, where kids can play freely. You can also meet old farm breeds of rabbits, geese, pigeons, and chickens. In the summer, our volunteers demonstrate how the hard work was done when peat was dug by hand and machine power.
When you’re done with the exhibits, take a walk in the beautiful surroundings, enjoy your packed lunch under the trees—or finish the day with a visit to our small museum shop.

The ticket portal is new, and we are working on including all Danish museums. Right now, you can purchase tickets for the museums you see here, but we hope that in the future, you’ll be able to buy tickets for even more museums.
