A unique experience
Ehlers Samlingen
Visit one of Haderslev’s hidden treasures. Just a few hundred meters from Haderslev Cathedral, you can explore the Ehlers Collection, Northern Europe’s largest collection of ceramics. From utilitarian pottery spanning 500 years to artistic ceramics, the collection was originally created by Louis and Margrete Ehlers from Copenhagen. It is not only a lifelong achievement but also a piece of cultural heritage that might otherwise have been lost. In addition to ceramics, the collection includes items such as cameo pins, namecloths, silverwork, and half-doll heads, among others.
Since 1983, the collection has been housed in a beautifully restored Renaissance building from 1577, featuring some of Denmark’s finest and best-preserved wall panels and ceiling paintings.
